Think Pink

Went off shooting for the blog in Knightsbridge today and then had a spot of lunch, alfresco!  We all must make the most of this weather because I can just sense it’s not going to be here for much longer.  I love the streets of London when the air is crisp and the sun is shining but something tells me that soon…rain will come, boooooo!  It’s difficult to let your style speak when it rains, all ensembles are topped off with some hideous umbrella that never does it’s job, suede is completely off the menu and don’t even get me started on my hair!  Someone needs to bring back the rain bonnet in a truly chic manner!

Liz Earle Strengthening Nail Colour

Today I’ve been trying out some Liz Earle products that I’ve been sent.  Last Week I went to a Liz Earle beauty event at their store on Duke of York Square in Chelsea and I got to explore their products a bit more.  The beauty side of blogging is pretty new to me and it’s only really been since LFW that I have decided to start doing beauty posts too.  As I’m a full time blogger I figure I may as well!  So I hope you enjoy them and perhaps find them useful 🙂
The first product that I’ve been testing is the Strengthening Nail Colour (£7.50 per 12ml bottle).  I currently have 4 of the 12 colours available; ‘Grey Dawn’, ‘Grace’, ‘Pink Perpetue’ and ‘Rhapsody in Blue’.  I’ve done some nail swatches below so you can see the true colours once on the nails.  In terms of easy of application, I’d definitely not fault this product.  The brush is just the right size and the consistency of the polish is perfect for the 3 stroke coverage when applying.  I used 2 coats on each colour apart from ‘Grace’ (the very pale nude colour) where I actually applied 3 coats just to get it completely opaque, but I find with all nude colours you really do need about 3 coats anyway.  The polishes on their own are very glossy (more than average) although I would always add a top coat of Seche Vite just for added shine and durability.  Drying time was pretty quick but with it not being a specifically designed ‘fast dry’ product is will be longer than some other polishes with that feature.  The colours from the range are detailed in the image below, and my personal favourite ‘Grey Dawn’ will be a frequent fixture on my nails for AW13!  I also love the look of the deep red/brown colours which would be perfect for Autumn; ‘Knockout’, ‘Moment In Time’, ‘Pure Poetry’ and ‘Old Velvet’…..lush!

Liz Earle Strengthening Nail Colours are available to buy online, in Liz Earle Stores, selected counters at John Lewis and Boots and QVC.

‘Postcards From Shoreditch’ with Warehouse

I‘ve been banging on about this for the last few days, the pictures from my shoot with Warehouse are up!  They do a weekly feature with London Bloggers and I was fortunate enough to be one of them.  The outfit I’m wearing is pretty dark for me, but each of the pieces are so cool and wearable in so many ways (which I’m sure you will see over the coming weeks/months on the blog).  I must start with the coat which I have been obsessing over since choosing it on Monday.  You can wear this coat in five different ways….now how cool is that?! Pretty darn cool!  I have already sported some the ways to wear it in my blog posts throughout this week, in fact, every day since I got it on Monday, LOL!  I told you, obsessed!  As I have a fetish for leather I also chose a rather biker-ish faux leather pencil skirt which will be a huge wardrobe staple for me this season.  You can do so much with leather and I live by the motto, ‘if in doubt, wear leather’!  The jumper I have on is a slightly more feminine contrast to the biker chick leather elements in the outfit.  The embellishment around the neckline sets it apart from a boring plain jumper and even paired with a skinny jean, it would be instantly chic for Autumn/Winter.  Lastly the bag; which has a touch of minimalist Celine to it, not to mention being large enough to fit all my daily crap including my DSLR beast!
I must say a huge thank you to Hannah and the Warehouse team for having me as part of their feature and thank you for the gorgeous outfit!

Casual in Converse

I was sent these Converse a short while ago from the sports store Size?  I have actually worn them a lot but haven’t done a shoot in them yet.  They are fully leather so will be a bit warmer than the classic ones come the winter time and they have bronzed studs which lie up the front of the shoe.  Converse are always a comfy option for running around in and they are certainly my go-to shoe of choice for big shopping days.  However they can seem pretty scruffy (especially when they get a bit dirty) so the new styles they have brought out combat that issue.  Check out the new range available at Size? here for some nice suede and leather styles!

Green Park

A virtual round of applause must go to my buddy Tijan for taking today’s awesome pictures!  I met up with her this afternoon for a spot of lunch where she introduced me to Itsu, a rather healthy foody type place where I then ate something other than hydrogenated fat!  We ate, gabbed a bit and then toddled off around Green Park to take some lovely pictures.  Yay to being a London Blogger!

Fall Haze

The fog is back therefore so is ‘fog frizz’! Nooooooooo!  This foggy shittyness plays havoc with my hair.  On the plus side, the leaves are falling and this autumnal scenery is just perfect for a blog shoot.

The ‘IT’ Shirt

This morning I had my photo shoot in Shoreditch with Warehouse; I have posted a couple of pictures on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter but the final pictures from the shoot will be up on the blog by the end of the week.  The Coat I’m wearing in the shoot is a 5-ways-to-wear coat and this is another of the ways you can wear it, simply as a gillet.  I will be doing another post with all 5 ways to wear this coat because it’s too good not to shout about (and all for just £140!).
