K Is For…

I‘ve got a real thing for ripped jeans.  These are my newest addition to my collection (from Boohoo) and as you can see they are super ripped; or sometimes called ‘busted knees’ jeans.  I couldn’t love anything more right now, they’re only £25 and fair enough they’re really practical for this cold weather but when it starts to warm up a bit I’ll be wearing them non-stop!  Boohoo have got loads of other styles on their site so check them out, these ‘Lisa’ ones are next on my list of purchases!

Warehouse SS14 Press Day

It was back in November that I went to the Warehouse Spring/Summer 14′ Press Day and now that we’re almost in February, so close to Spring, I thought I’d show you what’s in store for next season.  They had split the range into four different collections and also one collaboration: Philli Wood for Warehouse Available from February).
Warehouse works closely with the BFC’s Colleges council and for the fifth year running have selected a winning graduate to collaborate with on a capsule collection.  Philli Wood’s collection was showcased at the University of Westminster’s Graduate show in May 2013.  Philli says: “The collection was initially inspired by American Indian Inuit’s. I experimented with large oversized silhouettes and chunky knitwear. I printed images of cable knits onto exaggerated shapes to give the illusion of knitwear. The bright, clashing colour palette was inspired by installation artist Dan Flavin who uses fluorescent strip lights.”  Her Warehouse collection (comprising of 12 pieces) sees the bold knitted graphic on a range of slouchy jersey trousers, tee’s and an oversized parka (perfect for festival season!) with the addition of a sharp abstract print on lightweight dresses.  The range is limited so get in there when it’s released in Feb!
Moving on to Warehouse’s own collections we’ve got pastels, sheer fabrics, lace, broderie anglais, prints, culottes (my fave!), leather and bold colour.  It’s a strong range I must admit and certainly one that’s got me swooning!  I’ve picked out my key pieces (top picks!) in the images below and some of the products are already starting to filter in stores and online so head over to Warehouse to check them out!

Well I’ve got two very sore little Chihuahuas to look after today.  Boris and Bumble had their ‘snip-snip’ ops yesterday and now they’re feeling rather sorry for themselves and unfortunately have to sport some rather fetching lampshades on their heads…excellent for comedy value but it’s breaking my heart to see how uncomfortable they look.
I’ve still got plenty of SS14 press day pictures to show you from various brands so as I’m on puppy-sitting duty today I’ll try and get one of those up too.
Have an awesome day guys, and hey…It’s Friday tomorrow!

NAILS: Burberry SS14 Inspired

I‘ve been playing with nail art again and this one requires a bit more effort than my last nails post but it’s pretty cool.  The mixture of spots & stripes is inspired by Burberry SS14 and is pretty striking.  It’s not really a practical look but it’s just a bit of fun.  If anyone would like a tutorial on this then let me know and I’ll add one in, although it’s pretty easy to create dots and stripes and I’ve attached a list of bits you’ll need below (and the products that I used).  I’ll be doing some more SS14 collection inspired nails throughout the week so keep your eyes peeled for those 🙂

I‘m guessing this skirt won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but I flippin’ love it (Bravo ASOS!)!  It’s got serious volume and is a real statement piece!  It’s definitely going to be staple of mine for Spring/Summer and I’m sure someone will be wearing it at London Fashion Week so I can’t wait to see how others style it up/down.
In other news, my 2 boy pups, Bumble and Boris are going for the snip today so please all wish their fury little balls luck!

Upon listing the items worn in this post I have come to the conclusion that roughly 80% of my wardrobe probably comes from Zara!  It wasn’t planned that the entire outfit (bar the Next coat) was from Zara but sometimes this accidentally happens.  As I said in my post yesterday, there are very few items that have the honor of keeping their place in my wardrobe, and much the same as the pleated skirt (in yesterdays post) this Zara knit (roughly 2 year old) is also a keeper!  Hello old friend!

Yar!!! Today one is dressed like one is off on a Cruise…y’know as ya do!  Yeh so I am feeling slightly more demure than usual and quite simply just experimenting with a few older bits from the darkest depths of my wardrobe.  This off white pleated skirt (from Primark) has survived several wardrobe culls and would you believe it has resided in my wardrobe for just over 3 years!  Shock.  Horror.  It needed a bit of winterising so I’ve teamed it with my new fave jumper (a Zara sale bargain at £12.99) and the ‘Muse’ (Timothy Everest x Superdry) blazer that I won at last London Fashion Week.  So I’m feeling pretty middle class today, but if you see me dipping bread in oil slap me, as I’ve clearly got carried away!
