It’s In The Detail

It’s all about those little details, fringing, lace, tassels, embellishment; and the G21 range at George has it all.  This little cami dress with beaded embellishment is perfect for festivals, chilling in the park, partying, a beach/pool cover-up…it’s a beaded all-rounder!  I’ve teamed it with this rather jazzy tassled statement necklace and lace fringed kimono which is the ideal cover-up for summer.

Tranquil

I know I did an entire weeks worth of Festival Style not long ago but I was asked by F&F to style a Festival look using one of their pieces and you can’t get more ‘Festival’ than these amazing embroidered shorts (£12).  So not only are they bang on it with the style but they are quite possibly the best fitting denim shorts I’ve ever had!  They’re not too short, and you know I’m always banging on about ‘booty shorts’ and how I hate them, well these are just perfect!  There’s only really two occasions when you can wear a Kimono and that’s A. on holiday and 2. at a festival, so I’ve gone with an embroidered Kimono to compliment the shorts with a basic tee, gladiator sandals and a fringed bag.  It’s casual cool with the ethnic mix that’s perfect for the laid back festival vibe.

Festival Style: Feminine Textures

Well it’s the last look of my Festival Style Week.  Thank you everyone for your lovely comments, I hope you have enjoyed them and maybe got some inspiration if you’re off to a festival this summer.  This final look is a mixture of feminine textures; ruffles, sequins and lace.  The skirt (River Island) is quite simply immense, it’s completely covered in embellishment and makes for a perfect statement festival piece.  It could be teamed with a distressed band tee and pair of ankle boots for as it was my last look of the week I went for a more dressed up look.

Big thanks to all the brands who got involved with this week and also thank you to my mum for taking my pictures.  I think you’ll all agree she did a sterling job, only thing is, she now thinks she’s bloody Annie Leibovitz!

Festival Style: The Brights

I hope you’ve all been enjoying my Festival Style looks this week, we’re almost at the end of the week now but I do still have two looks left to post.  Today’s is all about bright, bold colour so I’ve layered a burnt orange jumper over a bright orange dress and added some electric blue accessories and eye make-up.  To avoid going OTT with colour I toned it down with this monochrome River Island kimono and fringe bag.  Ok so the heeled boots might not be practical for a festival but you could certain work some kind of alternative flat or mid heeled ankle boot with this look.

Festival Style: Mohawk

This festival look would probably be closest to what I’d actually wear to a festival.  I love ripped jeans, in fact, I live in them so these MissGuided busted-knee jeans would be a must for me.  The H&M top with the delicate fringing adds a slightly feminine touch to the look and lets face it, it wouldn’t be a festival outfit without some kind of fringe!  The jacket (F&F) is super lightweight so won’t make you overheat, best of all it’s totally wearable outside of a festival…unlike my totally awesome headgear!  Now I wouldn’t personally don a feather mohawk mooching around Oxford Street however, like I said at the beginning of the week, at a festival, anything goes! Be adventurous!

Festival Style: On Yer Bike Love!

As you can tell the theme of today’s festival attire is most definitely ‘Florals’!  Boohoo is another great online retailer who are just bursting with great festival pieces.  I chose this cute aptly named ‘Emma’ dress and layered over a floral kimono and knitted waistcoat.  F&F provided the wellies and aren’t they just the cutest darn things you’ve ever seen?!

Festival Style: The Bomber

I‘ve recently found myself obsessing over bomber jackets and they are the perfect cover up for festival season.  They’re light enough to tie around your waist or shove your bag when you don’t need it on but they’ll also provide some much needed warmth when the night draws in, or god forbid if the weather is crap!  This African safari print bomber from River Island is just gorgeous and teamed with a fringed bag, denim cut offs and feathered accessories it makes for a laid back cool festival worthy look.
