Ahead Of Time

I‘ve already begun collecting my new AW14 wardrobe and in a slightly eager attempt to jump ahead to next season, I wore a jumper (Topshop) in 30 degrees.  It wasn’t smart and it wasn’t funny.  The trousers on the other hand (another AW14 purchase from Topshop) are perfect for this weather, the wide leg allows, errrrrrr, air circulation? Mmmm, yes, air cirulation!  They are my favourite culotte-esque length and they could well be a runner for a Fashion Week ensamble (Who knows!).  Now me mustn’t forget these monochrome shoes because they are might fine for a price tag of only £39!  Well done Miss Selfridge, well done!

Pastel Agenda

Well with all this glorious weather we’re having here in London it’d be rude not to rock a pastel shade or two.  One huge trend this season was pastel coloured leather (or ‘pleather’ in this case), and this pale blue biker screamed ‘buy me’ when I spotted it in Miss Selfridge the other day.  I’ve teamed it with these gorgeous nude culottes (Dorothy Perkins) and some black leather accessories.  As you can tell the ‘Boy’ is my new favourite bag, apologies if it just so happens to make a cameo in every single outfit…ever!

A Pretty Print

I was asked by MissGuided to pick a playsuit or jumpsuit from their site and style it in my own way.  I chose this gorgeous ‘Kobyla’ Cherry Blossom printed playsuit as I thought it would be cute for summer and show off my newly acquired tan.  It’s a silky fabric with a low cut back and the print is beautiful!  I styled it with my obligatory blazer, nude heels and a pastel pink bag for a feminine touch.  Check out their other jumpsuits and playsuits here, the ultimate wardrobe staples for summer!

Boy

As I’m going on holiday again, unfortunately I will be missing the SS15 Mens Collections in London (15th -17th June).  It’s great to see so many women rocking the androgynous trend at these shows and this season will be no different.  There will be some great style inspiration for AW14 as masculine dressing was seen all over the place at Fashion Weeks back in February.  Masculine dressing is easy what with the rise of the ‘boyfriend fit’ (tees, jeans, blazers!) so it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to wear mens clothing.  That said I’m a huge fan of using mens pieces in my looks and I find some great menswear in Primark in particular their shirts!  I’m a UK size 10 so I buy their smallest sized oxford shirt (ranging from £3) and it fits perfectly, just the right amount of ‘baggy’.  You can also find some great mens bargains in the sales, one of my faves is the ASOS sale where you can usually pick up some pretty jazzy stuff.  For Boyfriend jeans (ladies) I always head to Bershka (seen in this post) and Zara as I find they have the best fit and they last forever!  Normally for accessories, I simply steal them from my other half!

Pastel Mix

I have a bit of a moan to express this morning I’m afraid and yet again it revolves around these arse-cheek-baring younglings who are clearly encouraging retailers to create utterly inappropriate shorts.  I went shopping the other day for denim shorts and found it almost impossible to find a pair which didn’t expose my buttocks!  Thankfully the ‘boyfriend fit’ is still at large so when I popped into New Look I found these bleached ones which you can roll up or down to the length that you want them.

If In Doubt, Wear Them All

By far my favourite places to buy costume jewellery are Miss Selfridge and Topshop, especially around this time of year because all the festival themed pieces start to come out so you can pick up some really unusual styles (hand harnesses, head pieces and body chains etc).  Ok, so this super-layered look might not be practical, washing your hands is going to take an epic amount of time but I just love the look!  I’ve noticed that Toppers and Miss S have started coming out with loads of sets of rings which include stackers, midi and thumb styles and they’re really reasonable priced!  A couple of sets and you can create this look for under £20.  I think this look will be huge for festivals….and you don’t wash so hey no need to take them off 😉  There are more subtle ways to work this look but you can adjust it to suit your style and practicality.

Thanks to Impulse PR for hooking me up with all these gorgeous rings!

Surfs Up

I hope everyone had a great weekend, and if you took part in the London Marathon I’m sure you’re all in severe pain, but well done!  I watched the marathon from the comfort of my sofa with a giant bar of chocolate and some Pringles, because that’s how I roll.
We’re kicking off this week with glorious weather (In London anyway) so today’s outfit is a little surf inspired, not that I’ll be surfing the Thames any time soon! Ewww, can you imagine?  Anywho, I’m not feeling very organised right now so today I’ll be planing out my week as I have some exciting events coming up.
